HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MY AFRICAN MAMA

WM113

MAMA I WILL LOVE AND CHERISH YOU FOREVER

In a split of a second, your life changed because of me from the day I was formed inside you until the day you delivered me. You carried me in your womb and endured labor pains, all because of the LOVE of a mother. Immediately you saw my face, you forgot all that you had been through during pregnancy and delivery and even gave me siblings in addition. You heard my first mewl, nurtured me, and thought me how to utter my first WORD. You abetted me with my first WALK and, today, I am matured, walking confidently in life.

MAMA, no one delights in me like you do and even when others give up on me, you always stand by me and comfort me with a buoyant look in your eyes gesturing me that I can make it against all the teething troubles of life. You did your best and became my CLOSEST FRIEND despite all the pressures from my peers. When others gave up on their children, saying “it is their life they should deal with it”, you kept saying “I will be there for you until the day I can’t any more”.

Equally very memorable, in my most challenging times, you clogged the tears from your eyes and you wiped mine, assuring me not to give up, that better days were ahead. Mama, you showed me how to LOVE, RESPECT and CARE for others by the way you fostered me. You always CATERED for me through thick and thin; whether there was money or not, you ensured I had food to eat, clothes to wear and always had a way of putting “a precious SMILE on my face“.

You strongly believed in the BIBLE versetrain up a child the way he should go and when he grows he would not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). You taught me the importance of knowing and having a relationship with GOD which has been a guide to my life till date. You also believed in Ephesians 6:1-2 and therefore brought me up in the LORD so that I would be a beneficiary of the promise of God.

Mama, you instructed and encouraged me to be STRONG, DISCIPLINED and CONFIDENT in all that I do. Honorably, I could not ask for any other mother but you. My life has been enriched by the courageous and confident choices and decisions you supported me to make. Mama you are one of the best people in my life, thank you for carrying me in your womb for nine months and for all that you have helped me to achieve. Indeed you are MY FRIEND, MY QUEEN and MY AFRICAN MAMA, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY. I will sing “SWEET MOTHER” song for you always, LOVE you MAMA.

This article is dedicated to my mother Mrs. P.K.O., I thank God for your life, my beautiful African Mama. I will forever appreciate you for making me the woman that I am today, God bless you Mama. This is also dedicated to all the mother figures I have had and still have in my life. It is also dedicated to all the mothers out there including myself, who are working diligently to make their homes a better place to be and raising their children to be better people. God bless us all.
